Ubisoft are aiming to be the main third party developer on the new Nintendo platform and it shows, while others have released sub-par versions or almost year old games, Ubisoft have stepped up with one of the biggest games of the year Assassin’s Creed 3 in a pretty solid port.

This version stacks up against the other console version, matching it in areas where it both excels and falls down. The dropping frame rate the draw distances issue are still present but those little issues are easily overlooked when you unearth the magnificent story that is unfolding in front of you. The full Review can be seen here.

The main selling point of the console is of course the controller and it is a mixed outcome, swapping weapons is made much easier but the use of the mini map is a novelty but not something that adds anything to the experience.

Being able to play on the controller’s screen while someone else watches TV to play the full game is perfect for a game of this length as it frees up the TV for the others in the house to use.

Overall: There is little or no difference between this and the other console versions which is a good sign and credit to Ubisoft’s dedication to quality. As with most of the Wii-U titles if you have played it on any other format there is nothing here for you but if you are looking for an incredible game for your new Wii U console this is the one.

SCORE 8.5/10
