Just when you thought they couldn’t make Dark Souls II any more cruel, an announcement for some punishing new DLC arrives in the form of ‘The Lost Crowns’ trilogy, which will be available on all three platforms.

The Crown of the Sunken King will be released on July 22nd
The Crown of the Old Iron King will be released on August 26th
The Crown of the Ivory King will be released on September 23rd.

It seems that From Software is eager to keep the fans of the Souls series happy by killing them off again and again, right up until the end of the summer. This new content is said to feature “an entirely different world within the Dark Souls II universe”. From the footage we saw, this features some very dark caverns, a lot of skeletons and a very ominous looking pyramid.
Stressing that the DLC will be”Even harder [than the main game]”, this should keep punishment gluttons satisfied until the release of Bloodborne next year.

Bloodborne is the spiritual successor of Demons’ Souls and is set for a 2015 release, exclusively on Playstation 4.
