Video game music is far more than just background filler, it has the power to evoke deep emotions within the player, instill fear, hope, passion or simple joy. It changes the gaming experience from simple past time to something far more transcending and that emotional connection can be felt for decades to come. A simple opening chord has the ability to transport you back to your childhood in a flash. So what better way to celebrate a major component of your favourite past time than to see it performed live by the best in the industry right here in Ireland.

The Dublin International Game Music Festival is happening in Ireland thanks in no small part to our own Eímear Noone. The award winning Irish composer and conductor responsible for classic soundtracks from World of Warcraft, Diablo III, Starcraft 2 and The Legend of Zelda has been trying to bring the event home for years. After years of Irish fans badgering her to take the concert to Ireland it is finally happening this weekend.

She will be joined by a host of other talented people from the industry in what is sure to be an epic weekend celebrating the Art of Video Games. For more on this event and to grab some tickets before they sell out please click here.
