Eternal Spirits – A Game For Mega Man Fans

If you haven’t heard of Eternal Spirits, it’s because you’re dumb! it’s because it’s a relatively new indie title that has only been in development for the past year, right here in Ireland. It hasn’t been finished yet but despite that, it’s a game that still managed to catch our attention. The main reason for this is due to it being a beautifully hand-drawn 2D platformer that bears striking similarities to Mega Man (one of our favourite franchises here at Bone-Idle). It also boasts defining, idiosyncratic visuals and some truly charming gameplay mechanics.

Whereas Mega Man could use the abilities of his foes once he defeated them, most of which were weapons of some variety, Eternal Spirits lets you harness the elements in order to progress gameplay. Each element is applied logically and is endearingly practical. Fire is used to defeat enemies, while wind can make you more agile, etc.

As part of a college project, the game itself hasn’t been completed yet. However, it is currently in playable form and a demo is readily available, which you can download here.
If you enjoy the title (and this really does seem likely. It’s a very charming game), you can get involved in seeing that it gets completed. This doesn’t require a lot of effort, it can be something as simple as a Facebook like or, if you’re feeling very generous, you can donate some money to help progress the Irish gaming industry.

Either way, you can be a big help. Have a look at the trailer below and see if you’d be interested in sampling the free demo!
