Gamescom : Our First Look at Jurassic Park From TellTale Games

Developer TellTale Games

Platform PSN, Xbox Arcade

Release Date Nov 15th 2011

Tell Tale the guys behind Monkey Island gained the rights to the Jurassic Park licence and have set about making a game which is a step away from what we may be used to from this awesome studio.

One of my highlights from Gamescom this year was getting to meet with the guys from Telltale who are really enthusiastic and passionate about this title and its not hard to see why. Jurassic Park is set to go up against some massive titles in November but i think it will surprise a lot of people when it does comes out.

Set around the same time as the first film but not around the same story. Fans will notice some similar faces popping up such as the Parks vet, and huge fans will notice lots of extra winks and nods to the film.

The premise for the game is that when Denis Nedry lost the canister of embryo’s just before getting killed by the spitting dinosaurs, the man he was delivering them to was still left waiting on the boat. Not fully trusting of Nedry he had installed a tracking device on the can and sets out aided by a local girl to find the missing can and to retrieve the valuable contents, but as always it doesn’t quite go to plan.

Gameplay did remind me of a Heavy Rain style where you investigate items within the scene and go through some action sequences with some quick time event button presses but there is much more to this than a QTE game. It is also looking very impressive for a PSN title and the dialogue from our small play through was excellent.

Below is the first live action montage made up of clips from the game enjoy. Jurassic Park launches on Nov 15th on PSN & Xbox Arcade.
