This is a fantastic pack for anyone looking for a challenge this Christmas with their Move as it includes three of the best Move titles to test your skills. The pack contains Lemmings, Echochrome 2 and Tumble. Many think of the Move as little more than a motion controller but often forget it is a brilliant replacement for a mouse, opening up a whole new genre previously impossible on consoles.
With this pack you get three brilliant games and they are not party games. They are intelligent, entertaining and incredibly fun to play.
Lemmings in case you are unfamiliar with the game, is a basic concept that gets incredibly difficult very quickly. It is a 2D game, a number of Lemmings drop from the opening gate and its your job to ensure that the majority make it to the end in one piece.
You are given the option to empower the lemmings with special powers, some can dig tunnels, other can block the advancing march, others are given an umbrella so they can parachute off high levels.
Each of these powers are mapped out along the bottom of the screen, more can be picked upwithin the game. You just point at the power you want then click on the lemming you want to give it to. This is very easy with the Move controller. You can zoom, scroll and click with the pin point accuracy of a mouse.
Tumble is best described as a mix between a 3D Jenga and a Teris game but something totally new in its own right. One of my favourite games for the Move, you use the Move controller which is represented on screen to pick up blocks and stack them. Sounds simple right? Well it’s not controlling the blocks in true 1 to 1 movement in a 3D environment that uses real physics it’s a nerve racking affair.
Echochrome II : Echochrome 1 involved moving the screen to line up pathways for your little wire man to escape. It was incredibly difficult, Echochrome 2 is quite different but also retains a lot of what made the original so good.
This time around you along with your move controller control a flash light that shines on the 3D world creating shadows. For this the Move works incredible well giving you amazing control over the environment.
Echochrome 2 is not as difficult as the original but it is still a lot of fun and by no means easy. If it was on its own I may not be as nice about it but as part of this package of games it fits in perfectly.
Overall : this is the best Move pack to pick up. It is not a series of party games, these are games you sit back and play. It is incredibly entertaining and is difficult enough to keep you playing for quite a while.
