TITLE : BIOSHOCK 2

PLATFORM : PS3/360/PC

DEVELOPER : 2K

RELEASE DATE : TBC

Bioshock was an amazing game. Winner of countless awards, any sequel has a lot to live up to. Bioshock 2 set 10 years after the end of Bioshock 1. As the trailer shows the little sister you helped escape is all grown up but has never settled in the real world and has returned to Rapture.

This time you play under the instructions of Dr. Tenenbaum as a Big daddy but not just any big daddy the very first big daddy. You are very different from the Big Daddies that we met in the first game you are bigger faster stronger and smarter. Along with your drill attack you have a rivet gun that can be interchanged and you also have the use of the plasmids. The plasmids have been totally overhauled making each upgrade far more noticeable and you can combine them this time. You now strike fear into the hearts of the splicer's so much so they will turn and run rather than attack you unless they are in large groups. It seems you have nothing to fear but you haven't met the Big Sister yet!.

Bioshock 1 was contained within the underwater city Rature. Now its time to step back into the beautiful and unforgettable world of Rapture in Bioshock 2 but this time also breaks free from the tunnels and allows you out into the sea floor to wander among the fish and coral reef.

As you are a big daddy that needs ADAM you again have met with a conundrum. Do you protect the little sisters or harvest them for the priceless ADAM. Harvesting yields a quick fix but instead of releasing them this time you adopt them. The little sister will hop onto your back and will collect ADAM for you but you have to beware when the little sister hops down to harvest the ADAM the splicer's show up looking for a cheap fix.

Fans of the original worried about a sequel ruining what was a near perfect game but the developers have assured fans that they need not worry this wont descend into a mindless shoot-em-up sequel.

They wont give much away and that's the way we like it. Along with the single player game a set of multiplayer games will be available that we are told will give a rich prequel to help explain the fall of Rapture.

No release date has been set yet, the first date of Nov. 2009 has been pushed back and 2K haven't set a new date.

Fingers crossed it lands before Christmas. Get those awards dusted off this one is going to sweep the board.
