LOOKING AT JANUARY GAME RELEASES   2009 was a great year for gaming with games that pushed the boundaries of what we have come to expect from the next Gen machines. 2010 promises even more. We are going to start looking at each month individually and picking out the games you need to keep an eye on and which games you can happily miss. Darksiders: THQ bring a early blockbuster to the PS3 and xbox360. Darksiders tells the story of 1 of the horsemen of the apocalypse WAR. This is more than a hack and slash game with puzzles great graphic,s combat systems and brilliant voice work. This come very highly recommended to fans of games like God of War. See our review for more info. Get this game its highly recomended. What you will like : Solid upgradeable combat system. Great voice work from Mark Hammil Compelling story   Bayonetta :  This is a stylish action game from the people behind Devil may cry. Bayonetta is a 3rd person 3D all action game, the story surrounds a female witch who uses spells and weapons as well as shape shifting to battle her enemies. The game has been received well although If you didn’t like the Devil may cry series id ignore this one its very similar. A brilliant combat system and sexy lead character with guns strapped to her ankles makes this an instant hit. The PS3 port has been reported to have a number of flaws so if you have the choice go for the 360 version. Very promising if you like the genre snap it up. What you will like The action is incredibly stylish The variety in attacks is deep and ever evolving..
Dark void : The game's story will center around a cargo pilot named William Augustus Grey who crashes in the Bermuda triangle. From there, he is teleported to a parallel universe where he encounters other humans, called Survivors. Together, Will and the survivors must battle an alien race known as the Watchers to return to Earth. The Watchers came from afar, making humans do their bidding, whilst being treated as gods. Eventually people known as Adepts emerged and banished the Watchers to the realm in which our pilot is trapped. With the help of Nikola Tesla, they retrofit Watcher technology to fight the Watchers The gameplay boasts action from all angles on the ground or in the air with your back pack you can swap between the too or just hover. The game uses a vertical cover system as well as your standard horizontal one.   Look spromising worth picking up once it released What you will like : The transition between air and ground combat is lot of fun. Swooping around in the sky on your jet pack. Fly anywhere shoot everything !! MAG : Massive action game Boast 256 player online battles but with out it getting cluttered how did they do it well the maps are massive you can run into other teams but you don’t need to if you stick to your mission objectives. MAG is getting mixed responses so far after the open beta started. Some people are put off by the size of it others just don’t understand working as a team. Ive seen the same old comments over and over again. It takes some time to get into but its far more rewarding than modern warfare 2. IF you want to run around getting your own kills thn this isnt the game for you. Unlike MW2 this game punishes poor tactics. If you run for 5 mins and then get shot (as some have complained about) it just means you are playing it wrong get into cover you idiot !!! This is a great game Pre order now ! What you will like: Working as a squad is very rewarding The weapons upgrade system is brilliant So many different combinations of game type & weapons will keep you interested for ages. Army of two the 40th day : EA who we have come to expect big things from are having another go at this game after the first one was very poor. Tons of problems from poor AI to just bad gameplay dogged its release. EA must feel they can improve on this. It features Tyson Rios and Elliot Salem as combatant partners who, with the assistance of their handler Alice Murray, must fight to survive and prevail over invading forces that have engulfed Shanghai in a devastating man-made disaster. This is a wait and see for us after the first game being so poor this will need to be a massive jump and from what we have heard its not that much different from the first game. Rent don’t buy to test the water.   What you will like : 2 player co-op games are better fun than single player games Tons of fighting to get through. Can be quite funny in parts.
