Crysis 3 Preview & Gameplay Trailer

We got the chance to meet Crytek last week and fire some questions at them about Crysis 3, of course they are quite guarded at this stage of production but what they did release was that Crysis 3 will be a culmination of the best from both previous outings.

Set in New York but rather than being a concrete jungle it is now a actual jungle as nature tries to reclaim the urban setting. So you get the best of both worlds, Lush jungle setting mixed with urban structures offering amazing visuals and combat zones.

The evil Cell Corporation has greated massive Bio Domes over the cities in an attempt to “Cleanse” them. Not known for their ethics and civic mindedness are of course going to try and profit out of it.

Speaking of Prophet in a very poor editorial link, Prophet is back! Taking center stage after his supporting role in Crysis 2 the hunted has now become the hunter.

Armed with a brand new weapon the Bow offers a silent assassin extra sleathly options. Crytek have not nailed down exactly how or when you acquire the Bow within the game as they are still at a very early stage of development. Some other notable mentions include that the Nano suit has now retained enough Seth DNA to allow Prophet pick up and shoot alien weapons too.

They also mention that the sand box tag is not entirely accurate, as the game will aim to balance the action giving you a lot more freedom but also ensuring you are in the right spot to see those epic moments. As they mention “there is no point in a visually stunning set piece happening if you are on the other side of the city”.

A lot more will come out as production picks up over the next year but if it looks this good this early it’s going to be great.
