Release Date 23. Oct 2012

Danger Close with their 2010 shooter Medal of Honor joined the ranks of the other big shooters by bringing the franchise in to the modern era while staying true to the promise to deliver an authentic realistic Special Operations experience. Putting players in the boots of real life Tier 1 operatives in the mountainous regions of Afghanistan in a ongoing conflict created a lot of controversy at the time.

Medal of Honor provided something that is in short supply for the genre, a brilliant single player experience. The mulitplayer side was handled out of house by DICE. Of course DICE are no slouches when it comes to developing epic multiplayer games with their amazing Battlefield series but this always felt like a cut price version of Battlefield. While it was still a good mode it was a huge oportunity missed for Danger Close to translate their brilliant gameplay into a mulitplayer mode especially the excellent cover system.

So we were delighted to hear that the “whole Package” will be handled in house by Danger Close this time around. Greg Goodrich Executive Producer of Medal of Honor said in his blog “Our guiding principle is one studio, one creative vision and the goal of delivering the absolute best Medal of Honor in the history of our storied franchise”.

Also announced in other MOH news is something that does not come as a surprise but it’s great news too, Warfighter will be built on the epic Frostbite 2 engine making one of the best shooters look and play even better as the series leaves Afghanistan and goes global following the war on terror from Abu Sayyaf’s stronghold in Basilan, Philippines to assaulting Al-Shabaab’s “Pirate Town” on the Somali Coast.

Medal of Honor Warfighter is promising to go beyond the battlefield and reveal the heartbreaking side of war, told through the eyes of military families with a story penned by Tier 1 Operators

Set for release on October the 23rd 2012 EA are currently offering a special pre order bonus. Players that pre-order the Medal of Honor Warfighter Limited Edition* will unlock the U.S. Navy SEAL Tier 1 Sniper class on day one of launch. This multiplayer unlock** saves an estimated 40-hours of time that would normally be required to unlock the operator. Medal of Honor Warfighter Limited Edition is available on Origin.com and other participating retailers.
