Defiance Gameplay Trailer Released By Trion Worlds.

The first gameplay trailer from the multi-platform shooter MMO Defiance™ debuted today during the “Future of Online Games” panel at PAX East in Boston, MA. The video, which features hundreds of players gunning down a Hellbug Horde in a terraformed land reminiscent of the San Francisco Bay Area, demonstrates the fast-paced, massively cooperative gameplay players will experience in Defiance.

 

Both a television series on Syfy, and a massive online shooter for PC, the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, and PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, Defiance premiered at last year’s E3 Expo to select press outlets. The PAX East video marks the first time actual footage from the game has been shown to the masses. Attendees of this year’s E3 will have the opportunity to get hands-on experience with the game.

 

Set in the near future, Defiance introduces players and viewers to a completely transformed planet Earth, inhabited by the disparate survivors of a universal war who endeavor to build a new society among the devastation. The game combines the intense action of a “AAA” console shooter, with the persistence, scale, and customization of an MMO, while its TV counterpart weaves the rich tapestry of the world into a series with the scope, characters, and drama of a classic sci-fi epic. Because they exist in a single universe, the show and the game will influence each other and evolve together over time, with actions in both mediums driving the overall story of Defiance.
