Everything you need to Know for the Anthem VIP Demo this weekend.
Bioware’s new IP Anthem is set to launch next month but for the next two weekends, you can get some early hands-on time with it.
This weekend is for VIPs only. The weekend after is open to all.
How to become a VIP.
- Pre-order. If you pre-order digitally the VIP demo is already on your account. Just download the demo from the store.
- If you pre-ordered in a store then check your receipt for a code.
- Subscribe to either Origin Premier, Origin Basic (PC) or EA Access (Xbox)
How to Download:
- Pre-load started on the 23rd. Just search for the Anthem demo in the PS Store, Xbox Live Marketplace or on Origin.
When can I play?
- The VIP demo runs from Jan 25th (around
5pm UTC) – Jan 27th. - The Open Demo runs from Feb 1st – 3rd.
What about my Friends?
- VIP Access lets you invite up to three friends to play with. Head to this page https://www.ea.com/games/anthem/anthem-demos and click Friends Passes to get a link for them.
What’s included?
- You start as at level 10 and get to play a few missions and a slice of the world to explore as you please.
- They have tweaked the rate at which you level up and earn currency compared to the full game. This is so you get to experience a bit more of the later customization options in the short time frame of the demo.
What Else?
- It is online only.
- You need to have PS+ or Xbox Live to play.
- You need to be over 18
- Progress will carry to the next free demo but not the game.
- You don’t need to uninstall the VIP demo, just update it for the free demo.
