Goodbye to 2012 : Bone-idle’s End of Year Message

As 2012 draws to a close we would like to take this opportunity to thank all our loyal readers old and new, everyone that has helped out during the year, all our friends in PR, the media and to all the wonderful Publishers, Developers and gaming enthusiasts that we met during the year for making this one of the most exciting and successful years we have had at this publication.

When we launched Bone-idle almost 4 years ago as little more than a hobby we never dreamed that we would be where we are today. This year we smashed all previous records, and although we pay little attention to traffic figures it is fills us with immense pride to see that Bone-idle’s articles have been read over 4.9 million times this year.

We have established an amazingly dedicated group of staff members who continue to work tirelessly to keep the site going and without them the site would have never been as successful as it is today.

2012 had some amazing games the block buster shooters like Borderlands 2, Call of Duty Black Ops 2, Halo 4 and the brilliant tactical shooter Medal of Honor Warfighter.

New IP’s like Dishonored, re imagined classics like X-Com, games that blurred the lines between games and art like Journey and The Unfinished Swan all ensured that this was a stellar year for the industry.

2013 is just around the corner and it holds even more promise, the first 3 months are jam packed with releases. The rumors of one or two (or maybe even three) new consoles hitting the market before the end of next year ensures it will be busier than ever.

So we are going to take this down time to relax, enjoy what’s left of the Christmas leftovers and play catch up on all those games we didn’t have time to finish over the last 12 months.

We would also like to take a moment to remember that although we made lots of new friends this year, we also lost a number of good friends that were very close to us. All the highs and all the lows have thought us a valuable lesson.

“Don’t take things too seriously, it’s just a game”.

Thank you again for reading
