The enemy of my enemy is my friend or so the saying goes. Ratchet and Clank are back but this time they are joining forces with long-time nemesis Dr. Nefarious. But don’t worry our heroes haven’t gone bad it’s just someone worse has shown up in this latest instalment from Insomniac games.

The big jump in All 4 one is multiplayer, as you may guess for 4 player co-op with the option to either play locally or online. Whilst you are playing co-operatively you are also battling competitively as the pickups such as the bolts found and enemies killed come into play when upgraded your characters abilities.

It gives the game that added edge just to keep it spicy, but it’s true genius comes to light when you all must work together, usually the side missions offer greater opportunity for working together than the main quest which more focuses on combining your weapons when used on one individual enemy(if two players have the same type it increases in power dramatically) giving satisfying slow-mo death scenes.

What If you have no friends? You are still catered for as All 4 one is fully playable from start to finish with anything from 1 player to the full 4. The co-op AI is actually pretty good resulting in a helpful side kick rather than a hindrance.

Going the multiplayer route has left its mark on the game, stationary camera’s, overloaded screens that are just too messy to concentrate on in larger epic battles do take away from the usual R&C experience you may be used to, but at the same time being able to share that experience with a friend does make up for any short comings.

Overall Not Quite A Crack in Time but far better than Heroes on the Move. This is a good solid outing for fans of the wise cracking duo.

Score 7.5/10
