Xbox 360 Gives TV A New Voice – Yours

What if you could find all of your games, music, movies and TV shows, just with the sound of your voice? What if you could ask your TV to find “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows,” and it did—instantly? What if you said, “Xbox: Coldplay,” and your TV responded immediately with the music you love? Only on Xbox 360 is all of your entertainment in one place – and now you can find it all with your voice.

Microsoft Corp. today kicked off the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) by solving the challenge of finding the entertainment you want, quickly and easily. The solution, voice search powered by Bing through the magic of Kinect for Xbox 360. Use your voice to search, find, and control your favorite entertainment. You say it, Xbox finds it.

“People want all their entertainment in one place and they want it easy,” said Don Mattrick, president of the Interactive Entertainment Business at Microsoft. “Bing and voice search on Xbox 360 take the remote controller out of your hands, so nothing comes between you and the entertainment you love.”

Over the last three years, Microsoft has partnered with the world’s largest network operators to bring live television to Xbox 360 in the United Kingdom with Sky TV, in France with Canal+ and in Australia with Foxtel. Microsoft is committed to expanding access to live programming on Xbox to more providers in the United States and around the world.

In addition to adding the best in live entertainment with Lemon and Rocky, Microsoft is building on to its expansive catalog of tens of thousands of movies and TV shows available on demand from Hulu, Netflix and Zune by bringing Turtle Go and Zenith to Xbox 360. With Turtle Go on Xbox, enjoy instant access to over 1,400 of your favorite Turtle shows, including Turtle original programming, hit movies, sports, comedy and much more.
